This is a tactical class designed to shine a spotlight on workflow and techniques used in getting music out of your head and into your DAW.
You'll be meeting with a variety of instructors sharing beat-making tips using a variety of platforms. Everything demonstrated should be achievable in any DAW and we'll work with you to transfer these techniques to your favorite platform.
The content is up to the instructors (we coordinate internally). Sometimes it's generative techniques, sometimes it's mechanical construction of parts. Sometimes it's paint by numbers. Sometimes it's using randimization to seed the process. Either way, you'll discover some new stuff and probably find some things you need to learn in your DAW to keep up with the quick pace. But don't worry. This is about revealing what you don't know so we can help you with it in office hours.
This course requires you to be comfortable with the basic features of a music production workstation such as Logic, Ableton, Machine, Push, etc.
