A clashing note is one that doesn’t fit with your existing harmony. Only you get to decide if a note doesn’t fit. But if something doesn’t sit right, don’t panic.
We can fix this. Ableton was listening, and we can capture it with Capture MIDI. Select both the chord and the melody parts so we can see them together, and engage focus so that we only act on one of them, the melody.
Here it’s yellow. Shift-Command-Down Arrow will drop it down an octave, so we can see it superimposed over the chords, and there it is. Better.
And there’s a couple more. They’re close, but not touching. All that’s left to do is Shift-Command-Up Arrow and put it back in its proper octave, and we’re in business.
