Your instruments and really anything organic, in other words wood, cloth, leather, they like the same conditions you do. This is the time of year to pull out those humidifiers. Just my two cents, humidify the room, not the instrument.
Even though it may be challenging to keep everything in that green zone, keeping the room humid will still go a long way towards retaining the health of the instrument, not to mention its tuning. With the humidifier too close to the instrument, you risk humidity hotspots, uneven swelling, and potentially even water damage. So adjust the climate as best you can for the room.
Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good. You may never get it above 40 and this morning I woke up to this. But just do your best and remember everything you do is gonna help.
If it’s comfortable to you, it’s comfortable to your instrument and it’ll thank you with music for years to come.
