I actually reject this idea that anybody’s becoming a better producer because of posts that they’re reading, because everybody’s really teaching from the same pool of facts. And you see it in social media, kind of recurgitated, copy paste, the same sets of tips and tricks and whatnot. That stuff doesn’t make you a better producer.
And neither does the gear that you have. What makes you a better producer is you. And it’s the way you are able to leverage the tools you have to tell your story, to express yourself.
And we’re at this weird point in time right now where I think we are hyper fixated on product and less so on process. And that’s a shame because anyone who’s ever made anything knows that the learnings come through process. Even this idea that mistakes are somehow failures, iteration is ultimately the key to evolution.
I reject this idea that facts separate people from growth. Learning the basics is really important, but I think where Beat Kitchen really excels, we are also focused on leveraging your own experience and the tools that you have at your disposal to tell your story and express yourself and celebrating the process as much as the handful of items that you have to know. Does that make sense?
