And if you play it back, you’ll hear what I actually said was Baba with a B. Part of being human is being susceptible. And what you think you hear is demonstrably affected by what you see.
Relying on your ears takes discipline. That plugin might not be doing what you think it’s doing. It might be bypassed, right?
And if you’re obsessing over some really delicate edit, you might only think you’re hearing it every time it goes by. Close your eyes. Ask yourself if you really think you’d hear it in a couple weeks without looking.
If the answer is no, move on. I really like the suggestion that you dime everything when you turn it on. If you dime everything when you turn it on, not only are you going to hear what it’s doing, you’re going to hear that it’s on.
Because unfortunately, a lot of times seeing is believing. And actually, these aren’t even fava beans.
