I’m going to play an F in every chord of the opening of “I Love Zupor” I’m playing an F and the droning pedal tone of the tonic note is going to ground the song What makes this feel so hopeful? This is the hallmark of the plagal cadence Although the harmonies move around, the two primary players are the F and the Bb the one and the four. A four chord just feels aspirational to me and so this little tribute to the plagal cadence is designed to make you feel hopeful
