Ideally, in the studio, I’m always recording, because you never know when something amazing is about to happen. One reason I like to keep “Allow Quick Punch-In” enabled in Logic isn’t just because it allows me to punch in without a hiccup. It allows me to go back and grab what happened before the punch.
It’s as close to a get-out-of-jail free card as you’re going to get, at least when recording audio. Just be sure not to hit the stop button if something beautiful occurred. Think fast, punch in.
Logic was recording all along. If you want some help with Logic, join our upcoming Logic Core skills. We also run an Ableton Core, and if someone who belongs in one of those cohorts, please share this post.
