This might be the easiest complicated chord progression you’ll ever learn. It’s a one finger operation. Add the bass and you’ll also notice that these are largely rootless chord voicings, meaning that the harmony is often implied even though the note with the chord name isn’t always in there.
That leaves some room for ambiguity, but we’re treating this like B half diminished, E7, A minor, D7. In fact, you can suggest this chord progression with just two fingers. Playing the barest shell of these voicings with the subtlest slight of hand that can only be compared with some kind of harmonic judo.
It’s just not that hard to do. It’s a tremendous bang for the buck. Put that under your fingers and share it with someone who belongs in a Beat Kitchen class.
