If you told me a year ago that I’d have a video about cables that had a million views, I would have laughed. But I did, and I think I understand why. In music, anything that resembles a straightforward answer is the exception, not the rule.
So when given a rule, there’s a tendency to cling to it for dear life. Rules often get deployed to separate those who know from those who don’t, but that’s not their purpose. In the creative sphere, rules are the closest thing we have to guardrails to keep the process moving along.
Those of us who have been doing this for a while, including me, sometimes get a little heavy-handed with the “time is money” mentality. Money is money, and time is time. Music is love.
So regardless of whether how to wrap a cable, if you’re here to learn, to ask questions, and to engage positively in this process, you are a member of this club. Just remember what you came here for, and if someone who belongs in a big kitchen class, share this post.
