Playing a chord, it’s easy. Getting from chord to chord, that takes a little more finesse, but it’s made a lot easier if you understand three chord inversions. This one, this one, and this one.
Let me show you what I mean. Here’s a C in the root position. We describe that as one on the bottom and two on the top.
We can move to an F chord. If we keep the one on the top and move the two on the bottom, we can make a G chord. This allows us to move quickly between any two.
And from the two on the top, one in the bottom position, we can move the outsides like this. C, F, C. What this does is open up the possibility for you to move quickly between chords.
