I bought this Fender Rhodes in 1991 for $265. And don’t get me wrong, I love this beast. But I’m not who I am today because of the investment I put in my gear.
I am who I am because of the people I surrounded myself with, and because of the investment I put in myself. I mean, today, you can just buy one of these. But a lot of the lessons I learned are from people you can’t talk to anymore.
And I draw from that reserve every single day. Invest in yourself, not just your stuff.
