A harmonica is an instrument that plays two chords, which makes it a perfect illustration of the plagal and the perfect cadence that I demonstrated earlier. This was actually supposed to be part of that video, but it wouldn’t fit. You may know that harmonica players all suck.
They also blow. The question is, do they blow more than they suck? Okay, here’s why.
A harmonica plays two chords, a one chord, and a five chord. That means it’s capable of playing two very different styles. The traditional style is blowing for the one chord and sucking for the five chord.
And for the bluesy style, we suck for the one chord. And so now when you hear a harmonica player, you’re going to be able to identify which kind they are, the kind that blow or the kind that suck.
