Even if you have no interest in electronic music, if you want to get into music production, the language of synthesis is the language of sound. Reverse engineering sound gives us terms like LFO and envelope, and those are the building blocks of effects we use when we mix. So even if you never touch a synthesizer, understanding how one works will help you record one of these.
